My School, (SHS) is selling bracelets for 6$. The way it works…
You buy a bracelet and the money you give for it goes toward a Kid’s education in Guatemala. I chose to buy a bracelet, because 6$ is not much to be asked of and I know how lucky I am to have an education. Little did I know, when I bought the bracelet, it came with a tag on it that said the exact child I gave money to.
Marina is 17 years old and will be Senior beginning in January. (The Guatemalan school year runs from January to October.) She is the oldest child in a very large family who all live together in a very small shack with a dirt floor. She wants to be a doctor so she can pay for her younger brothers and sisters to go to school and help her parents have a better life. She studies very hard and is determined to succeed.
I am so happy that I could help someone with their education. I know many kids from America take our education for granted. I try not to, and buying this bracelet really showed me that people a not a fortunate as me.
